The driverless taxi fleet operates without any human driver, using a combination of lidar, radar, and camera-based navigation across designated Bengaluru corridors.
Safety and Regulatory Approval
The fleet underwent over 18 months of supervised testing before receiving regulatory clearance, logging more than 500,000 kilometers without a major incident. Each vehicle is monitored remotely by a safety operator who can intervene if needed.
City officials say a gradual expansion to additional routes is planned pending a review of the pilot's first three months.
